Dear Sandra and list surv,

Yes, we like hyphens too; they seem to jazz up the language and make it a bit 
more action oriented. But...

Readability formulas, at least some of them, count hypenated words as one 
word. Thus, if you use a lot of hypens you will get a higher readability 
score fo the text. It may or may not actually be harder to read, but the 
score will be higher.
