Dear Alicia and all,

We at World Education have published two health literacy resource
guides which list some good easy-to-read nutrition education materials
(including Susan Auger's excellent photonovela series!) There are also
brochures, recipe books and a nice set of pictorial recipes. You will
find ordering information for each material and the Web address if it
has one.

The guides are:
		*	The Health and Literacy Compendium
*	Culture, Health and Literacy.

If you would like hard copies of these guides you can e-mail me
personally and I'll send you free copies.

They are also available online at:
The Health & Literacy Special Collection
www.worlded.org/us/health/lincs

This site has health curricula and activities for literacy or ESOL
classes, health brochures in easy-to-read English as well as other
languages, information about incorporating health into literacy
classes, and information about addressing low-literate populations
from health institutions.

We are looking for more materials which could help teach health to
low-literate poluations. If you or anyone else on the listserve knows
of some good materials, please let me know. We can Web publish
curricula, teaching activities, or easy-to-read health brochures if
they are not already online, and we can link to other health or
literacy sites.

Please check out the Health & Literacy Special Collection, and feel
free to contact me if you have any questions!

Cheers,

Julie
