Here in South Carolina, leaders of a variety of organizations have formed the SC Hispanic Health Coalition. A survey has been commissioned through a professional marketing research team to determine if the state has a potential supply of caregivers who are not able to find jobs in the health care field because of low English literacy. The purpose of this survey is to help identify those individuals who are medical professionals from Latin America but cannot practice their profession here in South Carolina due to a variety of reasons. The purpose of this survey is to assess whether the shortage of nurses and medical doctors in South Carolina could be alleviated by tapping into the community of immigrant doctors and nurses currently residing in South Carolina but barred from practicing in their field. Anyone generally interested in the survey or anyone in South Carolina who would like to participate by taking the survey may directly contact: Rebecca Gonzalez gconsult@mindspring.com Deborah W.
