I am working for a research study whose subject population is limited English
proficiency patients and whose goal is to assess communication effectiveness
in medical encounters via trained and untrained medical interpreters. We
will be conducting surveys in the target languages of the patients and want
to measure the literacy levels of the target populations to assure
appropriateness of the instruments and methodology used. Therefore, I need
to find out the names of instruments to assess literacy in Spanish and
Chinese. I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer.

I can be reached by email: jgonz67@cs.com or by phone at 212-263-8242.
