Highlights include: The Executive Committee and Governing Board of the International Cancer Council has appointed Andrew C. von Eschenbach, MD as the Director of the National Cancer Institute. A new clinical trials education series has been launched. The series contains a variety of written and audiovisual resources that can be used for education and outreach among both the public and health professionals. Our Partnership Spotlight is on the Breast Health Connection of Georgia. (See main "News" page.) For the past five years, BHCG has launched a statewide breast cancer awareness program called Bells for Remembrance which is aimed at increasing early detection among underserved women.
