"Focus.." is a quarterly publication of the National Center for the Study of Adult Learning and Literacy (NCSALL), which is housed at Harvard University and funded by the Educational Research and Development Centers program, US Department of Education. Focus is published by World Education, 44 Farnsworth St., Boston, MA 02210-1211 EMAIL fob@worlded.org. Dr. Rima Rudd is, among other things, a distinguished researcher at the Harvard School of Public Health, and has been (may still be) a subscriber to this list serv. The latest issue of Focus is devoted entirely to health literacy. Dr. Rudd's article is on the cover. To view Focus on Basics on-line, go to http://www.gse.harvard.edu/~ncsall/fob/. NCSALL also produces an annual review of research in adult learning and literacy. The National Institute for Literacy (NIFL) also offers a discussion group specifically for Focus on Basics readers, where discussion and comment is made in response to each issue.
