For the information of the list, I am posting the following inquiry and my
reply. The bottom line is to avoid sending messages in MIME format if
possible. I have also forwarded this posting to NIFL. I appreciate
everyone's patience. Debbie

"I am having trouble reading about one-third to one-half of the e-mails I
receive on the NIFL listserve. The message appears in my mailbox but
when I click on it, there is no text visible. I am assuming this is
because these particular messages are formatted in a different way
(perhaps MIME format?)."

"You are right, the issue is MIME. I get this question about once a month.
The only solution that I know of is for senders to quit sending MIME
messages, but many services do this automatically without the sender even
knowing this. Considering that we add new members to the list constantly, it
is impossible to maintain my "educational effort" recommending we avoid MIME,
and some listers (including me) just can't avoid it. I wish I could help
further. But I will use your message as the latest example and another
reminder to those who can to stick with plain text. "
