I encourage all of you as health literacy advocates to help raise awareness about the need for understandable health information. You can do this in whatever way makes sense for whatever audience you are trying to reach. For some, raising awareness may mean simply putting up a poster or talking about health literacy at a departmental meeting. For others, this may include organizing a lunchtime presentation or displaying ways to simplify documents. Or perhaps hosting a more ambitious workshop, conference, or community presentation. Regardless of how you choose to get involved in Health Literacy Month, join with health literacy advocates around the world as together we make clear the need for understandable health information.
