Hello Members,
My name is Julie Hodorowski and I am a new listserv member. My interest
in health literacy was piqued by my participation in the development of
a Web site targeted toward the medically underserved
--www.CancerInfoNet.org. We conducted workshops using a
train-the-trainer model to educate community technology center staff to
incorporate a cancer component into their center’s computer education
curriculum. The Web site and training manuals are available to anyone
wishing to implement a cancer education curriculum.
I am interested in the field of consumer health information. I am a
member of METRO’s Consumer Health Special Interest Group
http://www.metro.org/SIGs/chi.html. One of our current projects is the
development of a health literacy resource list. I am a member of the
Steering Committee for New York Online Access to Health (NOAH)
