The Day of Understanding
Because you are a subscriber to the Pfizer Health Literacy e-mail
newsletter, we thought you would be interested in the following
announcement about the Day of Understanding:
On March 20, 2003, a unique coalition of organizations that includes
industry, professional and patient advocacy groups will unveil a new
patient education program designed to promote clear communication
between health care providers and patients.
For too many people, medical language comes across as complex medical
jargon and gets in the way of clear health communication that may result
in poor health outcomes. Difficulty understanding and acting on health
information is called low health literacy.
Join us for the webcast of the Day of Understanding, which also includes
a media briefing by national experts on the scope and impact of low
health literacy. We invite you to learn more about this emerging public
health problem - and how you can be part of the solution.
