I was honored to be part of the writing team and a health literacy consultant to the design team for the ASK ME 3 educational materials. When last I heard some months back, over 10,000 ASK ME 3 packets had been distributed to interested health providers nationally. Pretty neat. NIFL List members interested in receiving the patient and provider brochures and the posters may order these intervention materials at www.ASKME3.org Another nice element? Providers tell me the materials are sent out in a timely manner. My staff and I like using the educational pieces when we train providers on means to encourage patients to ask questions about their health. Also--the AMA Foundation materials (Helping Your Patients Understand) are quite well done. Hope this bird's eye view is helpful. With regards, Jann Keenan, Ed.S.
