We going to try to establish a Health & Literacy Weblog. The idea is to create an active space where teachers and possibly health educators can share their health and literacy ideas and experiences. Unlike a listserve or bulletin board, Weblogs usually take the form of a running journal. Over time we hope to invite many different teachers (and provide them with stipends) to reflect via the "blog." If you are new to Weblogs (which I was until recently) you can go to http://www.literacytech.org to see one in action. Steve Quann has volunteered to lead the pilot for us. Starting next week (the week of March 8th) Steve will go through the process of developing a health lesson, implementing it in his ESL classroom, and with the input of others (and this is were you come in), reflecting on the experience. To help us with the pilot, we are looking for folks interested in health and literacy, and the Internet to log on and comment! The more people, and the more comments the better! The pilot begins on Monday, March 8th, but if you want to check it out early, go to http://www.literacytech.org/teacherjournal.html. I hope you'll check it out! - Sabrina ------------------------------------------------- Sabrina Kurtz-Rossi World Education 44 Farnsworth Street Boston, MA 02210 617-482-9485 skurtz@worlded.org ------------------- TEXT.htm follows ------------------- <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <META content="MSHTML 5.50.4807.2300" name=GENERATOR></HEAD> <BODY style="MARGIN: 4px 4px 1px; FONT: 10pt Tahoma">I want to let you know about a new feature we are piloting for the Health & Literacy Special Collection Website <A href="http://www.worlded.org/us/health/lincs">www.worlded.org/us/health/lincs</A> and invite you to participate. <BR> <BR>We going to try to establish a Health & Literacy Weblog.
