Literacy President is a collaborative, non-partisan initiative supported by Voice for Adult Literacy United for Education (VALUE), The Change Agent, and other groups designed to: - raise national awareness of adult literacy regardless of who is elected; - ask Presidential candidates broad questions about adult literacy; and - engage adult learners and practitioners around contextualized teaching and learning on civic education and learner leadership using the EFF Citizen Role Map and EFF Content Standards. It has been called to my attention that although the post I made (as a private citizen) for the group was permissible based on all lists' guidelines, it was also of a politically-sensitive nature and some feel it may not be appropriate for NIFL lists. My intention was to alert teachers about an exciting new project. If my post has caused any confusion, I apologize. Jackie Jackie Taylor jataylor_1@yahoo.com
