We have posted (www.healthyroadsmedia.org) new multimedia colorectal cancer
information in English and Vietnamese. The materials cover three topics
(What is colorectal cancer?, Who is at risk for colorectal cancer?, and 5
tests to screen for colorectal cancer). Each topic is available in three
formats - written (PDF), audio (MP3) and multimedia ("movie-like"). There
are also handouts on preparing for screening tests (hemoccult, barium
enema, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy). The information is available now in
English and Vietnamese with Khmer coming soon. The multiple formats may
help to address some of the literacy challenges that many patients
face. The materials can all be downloaded and used off-line.
This project was funded by the National Cancer Institute through the
Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness Research and Training (AANCART)
as well as the Avon Foundation. Ethnomed (http://ethnomed.org) is the
ethnic medicine website of Harbourview Medical Center in Seattle and was
responsible for the development of these materials. Their willingness to
make them available for Healthy Roads Media to post is much appreciated.
Please thank them!

Feel free to use any of our materials. Feedback is always very helpful to us.
