Dear Heather,
I have been teaching ESL for many years and have written material for
pre-literate students. I have received grants from several organizations
here in Minnesota including the Deparment of Education to create health
education materials. You can find these health education materials both
online and print materialson my web site as well as multi-lingual health
education books. If you working with a pre-lit population you should also
consider using the LaRue Reading Skills test as an assessment of your
students skills. It's on my site and you can download free copies in PDF,
thanks to the Minnesota Department of Education.
Sincerely,
Charles LaRue
