Heather,

CDC has a low literacy booklet available to teach women of childbearing
age about the importance of taking folic acid daily.  The reading level
tests about grade 6, and the pictures illustrate the text.  Healthy
Mothers Have Healthier Babies:  Emma's Story is available without charge
in both English and Spanish and can be ordered from
http://www2.cdc.gov/ncbddd/faorder/orderform.htm.
