Cancer, Culture and Literacy
Our fifth conference addresses the need for increased research dissemination in culturally, linguistically and literacy relevant cancer communication strategies.  To move this evolving field forward, this conference provides a national forum for the exchange and dissemination of important information covering current research in the area of cancer, culture and literacy. This conference includes: presentations by keynote speakers, general discussions, poster presentations, break-out sessions, breakfast roundtable discussions and pre-conference skill-building workshops.

Who Should Attend?
Healthcare professionals involved in creating effective culturally, linguistically and literacy relevant cancer communications, innovative materials/media, programs and interventions. This includes: health educators, nurses, physicians, researchers, anthropologists, community leaders and outreach workers, patient advocates, survivors, students/trainees, policy-makers, literacy/health literacy specialists and other health professionals and lay persons involved in cancer care. 

Join Us As We Explore: 
*	Illustrate the nexus of cancer, culture and literacy when developing cancer communications, programs, and research;
*	Address principles of community-based participatory processes for developing sustainable cancer communications and research;
*	Highlight the use of innovative and emerging technologies in cancer education and health promotion among diverse populations to create effective communications and research interventions.
*	Explore the use of mixed methodologies including community based participatory research (CBPR) in cancer prevention and control research;
*	Examine strategies for facilitating 
search evidence for culturally, linguistically and literacy relevant cancer communications;
*	Apply the integration of relevant cancer communication to adult education endeavors;
*	Explore innovative dissemination and diffusion strategies at the community level in consideration of culture and literacy.
