I run an adult literacy program in East central Illinois called the Reader's Route. This year we are experiencing difficulties in recruiting and retaining both volunteers to teach/tutor adult students to learn to read and most important adult students who need to learn to read. Both populations are out their but presently this program (or I should say I because the buck stops here) seem to be struggling at how to reach and retain these two vital populations. So I am turning to this list serve and its members although it is primarily a family literacy list serve with a call out for ideas. Any and all ideas will be most appreciated, especially in the adult student recruiting. Also feel free to connect this message to another list serve. Thank You Scott Heatherton Reader's Route Adult Edcuation/Literacy sheather@dacc.cc.il.us
