I have a masters degree in communications and a second masters in Educational and Counseling Psychology. In addition I have 45 hours of undergraduate and graduate hours in Special Education, Multiple disabilities. I have over thirty years of direct volunteer experience with individuals with mostly physical disabilities and low functioning individuals. In addition, my wife has a masters degree from NYU in Physical Therapy over 30 years experience in two of the top rehabilitation facilities in the country. He area of expertise is head injuries. In addition she is a Certified Feldenkrais Practioner. she taught while at the Rusk Institute which is part of NYU Medical Center. She worked extensively with Edith Lawton who was one of the pioneers in field of physical therapy. We have over the years shared our mutual knowledge and experience over more then 25 years. I also have been reading research from many areas in an effort to find possible errors in my theory of a perceptual deficit disorder. I look at research in neurology, many areas of psychology, rehabilitation, education, and of course in language disabilities and ADHD. I have presented at conferences all over the southeast, including a state conference in Adult Education, mental health organizations, rehabilitation facilities, grand rounds at a large southeastern rehabilitation center. Am on the adjunct faculty at a state university in the graduate program in rehabilitation counseling, I have been publish and am currently completing an article for publication on reading. I have a high success rate and average a 4.6 to 5.0 out of 5.0 on participant evaluations when I present. I also have a reading disability and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. I have also produced many video training programs for individuals with disabilities requiring wheelchairs,crutches, and other assistance devices. I am in the process of completing a video program on reading disabilities and have written the music and the voice over on the program. I am also researching the efficacy of a reading test I have developed which is designed to provide an objective diagnostic instrument that hopefully will replace the eligibility formula that is incorrectly used as a diagnostic tool. This would go a long way to identify and provide effective intervention to individuals with reading disabilities that is not available today. I feel I am qualify.
