I was drawing a blank from the question, and then I got an email from a parent describing all too familiar phenomena.There are some mistakes that are flags for me that I'm dealing with someone who's got more than just a gap in knowledge -- I'm sure more will come to me but these three are starters:
	Confusing "how" and "who" and "why"
                Confusing when/then, what/that; reading "shouldn't' for "should" on a regular basis.
