Speakers will include: Developmental psychologists: among others, Peter Bryant of the University of Oxford and Terezinha Nunes of Oxford Brookes University; Tim Miles of the University of Wales at Bangor and Nancy Jordan of the University of Delaware. Neuropsychologists: e.g. Brian Butterworth of University College London. Educational researchers, e.g. Margaret Brown of Kings College London. Educationists and psychologists who have designed and implemented specific intervention projects, e.g. Jenny Tsankova of Boston University, USA (working with Herbert Ginsburg on the implementation of "BigMath" in American schools) and Bob Wright of Southern Cross University, director of the Mathematics Recovery program. Teachers, e.g. Sue Matthew, Headteacher of St. Ebbes' First School, Oxford. Educational policymaker Tim Coulson, director of the National Numeracy Strategy in the UK. The conference fee will be £20 per day, or £30 for the two days. There will be concessionary fees of £10 per day or £15 for the two days for undergraduate students and some other groups, including school teachers. Accommodation for the night of Sept 12th at Wadham College, Oxford will be available for an extra charge of £35 (some accommodation is also available on the night of Sept 11th at the same price).
