Is it that you cannot visualize words?>> My primary LD is a non verbal learning disability. I also have a mild case of Dyslexia, which is an unusual combination. The visualization issue is an interesting one. If I am reading about something that I am quite familiar with or relate to in some way, I have some visualization abilities. For example, when I read a book recently by Hillary Clinton's former advance person of his experiences with her, that was easy for me since I am a political junkie. But when I for example, have gone on information interviews about various careers, it is hard for me to picture with my set of questions that I am suppose to ask, what the job would be like. Perhaps, the act of having to take notes interferes with that process but I also know for example, I find the exercises in picturing my life in one year, five years, and ten years impossible to do. If you haven't done so, you might want to visit these sites: http://www.nldline.com http://www.nldontheweb.org Warning - a lot of the literature is still quite gloom and doomish but the sites are still quite informative. Just don't believe the part that says we don't have a good sense of humor because I can assure you it isn't true. <<I am truly sorry about your underemployment.>> Thanks, I greatly appreciate that. Vivian
