All three reverse letters, especially "b" and "d" and sometimes confuse letters that are quite similar in appearance like "n" and "h". One of the three came to us reading the few words he knew, from right to left. He writes this way as well. The letters are formed from bottom to top, but not backwards, just from right to left. The final result looks fine. (He can do cursive this way also.) I would love to discuss this more in depth with you. He also occasionally transposes syllables in his speech: ex. co-Mexi Judy Shaw Literacy Education Coordinator Hopelink 425-643-1912 X-202 jatshaw@hope-link.org -----Original Message----- From: nifl-ld@nifl.gov [mailto:nifl-ld@nifl.gov] On Behalf Of AWilder106@aol.com Sent: Wednesday, November 17, 2004 8:08 AM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: [NIFL-LD:4486] Dyslexia Colleagues-- I am working to make a synthesis of neuroscience theories and findings about dyslexia and I would like to use anyone who is interested as co-learners for a little while. I don't know how little a while, it might just be for a couple of days. I am not currently in the classroom and I know that some of you are. So...do any of you out there have students who make reversals? if so, could you give me any current examples? I am looking over the work of about 5 neuroscientists. I will share with the list any conclusions of my own, of course. Thanks. Andrea
