Vivian,

You're not beating a dead horse. What I said was in relation to what had been said right before, the imemdiately previous messages.

I, too, have one of those ways of learning that won't show up in brain imaging. I call myself a "non-traditional learner," my particular learning style/disability has taken me to paths most "normal" people wouldn't iamgine. I don't say I have a disability, it would be pointless and might even be held against me, so I shut up and try to do my best with what I have.

For me, the only point of this conversation is to explore ANY areas of knowledge that might help students.

I was thinking of phonemic deficit as opposed to visual deficit, which is there also. i tried to be careful about my language, but I obviously wasn't careful enough, so thanks for reminding me.

i would really be interested in hearing from you (and maybe others would too) about how your learning style affects your daily life, or contacts with other people, or academics, or whatever.

No dead horses around here. Whenever this conversation comes up on the LD list, it goes a little further, which I think is how it should be.

So thanks for shoving the conversation ahead.

Andrea
