Vivian,

I checked your email again.

1) Being labeled "disabled" may be quite a cross to bear, that is why I think one must be really careful about how that word is used. If one can get by not using it, i think that is good.

2)  I like the word "ordinary" as in "I'd like to live an ordinary life."  "Normal" is more psuedo-scientific. I hold onto "ordinary" as a more expansive and forgiving term, it takes in a wider span of behavior and "ways of knowing."
