Hello all,

Please note this important message from Jackie Taylor, List Moderator for
NIFL-AALPD.

Rochelle Kenyon, Moderator
NIFL-Learning Disabilities and Literacy Discussion List
RKenyon721@aol.com
.

As you may have noticed, some German spam has circumvented the NIFL
discussion
list spam filter and is being posted to the NIFL-AALPD discussion list. This
spam is generated by a computer virus, and this virus is sending spam as
plain-text messages to the NIFL-AALPD list.

How is this happening? The infected computer "spoofs" the source address of
the e-mail. In other words, someone out there has an infection, AND they have
your e-mail address on their computer. Their infected computer selects your
e-mail address at random and pretends to be you, and sends out this spam.

You should delete these spam postings, and do NOT follow the links in the
spam.

Make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date and that your Windows
updates
are current. If you have questions or need help, please contact your local
technical assistance. If you have not clicked on any unexpected attachments
recently, you should not have any problems with your machine.

NIFL is currently working on options to block this type of spam, and I will
get back with you soon with an update.

Thanks for your patience,
Jackie
