I assume it is to do with reading, and the decoding of words. My company has a product which helps with decoding using speech synthesis. But I have been working on an invention for tactile communication, where the coding and decoding is based on phonemes. With the input device you tap in phonemes (rather than letters), and the output device produces patterns of vibration corresponding to the phonemes. So multisensory decoding can include tactile, audio and visual senses. If you are interested, contact me off list.
