Dear Colleagues

If you are a library or a library consortium that is highlighting
diversity resources or initiatives on your homepage or website
and you would like
to link to the forthcoming and new ALA Office for Diversity
website - please send your url to me at sbalderr@ala.org.

Our target audience is people working in libraries that
want to borrow a game plan or review
various ongoing models of diversity - so library webpages
with resources, hints, tips, guidelines, studies will be welcomed.

Examples of content that the Office for Diversity is interested in
includes:

1) a homepage/website that purposely highlights and
describes a library diversity initiative (such as:)

a) ongoing culturally diverse and/or multilingual programming for families,
adults, children, elders, students

b) descriptions and promotions of collections by and about or
targeting multicultural and/or multilingual
communitites, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered communities, and people with
differabilities

c) online bibliographies or pathfinders or tools that describe your library's resources
on diversity

d) ongoing curricula that emphasizes critical thinking, new trends,
and research related to diversity

e) ongoing recruitment for a diverse workforce

f)

or

2) a website/homepage that prominently offers links
to diverse resources and contacts within your region

We want this site to be as user-friendly as possible for visitors so
please give the url to the specific section of your site or make sure that
the link is prominently displayed on the entry page/index/portal.

If you have any questions please contact me.

Any url's received by December 15, 2000 ,will be considered for inclusion
in the debut of the forthcoming ALA Office for Diversity website.

We look forward to highlighting your contributions.
