For Susan and anyone else interested in creating book discussions, I would
like to say that TV411's Book Club segments feature adult learners talking
about books in a way that models book clubs and is both inspiring and
non-threatening. The book club leader, a teacher and playwright, reads from
the books aloud, and learners respond. The books discussed include: LIke
Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel, Working, by Studs Terkel; Angela's
Ashes, by frnak McCourt; and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya
Angelou. The segment on Angela's Ashes features two learners talking with
the author about both the book's content and his writing process. For more
information, please email me at the above address. Debby D'Amico
