Dear Friends,

Women Make Movies, a non-profit distributor of independent film and video by
and about women, is proud to announce the P.O.V. encore presentation of LA
BODA, an award winning film on migrant farm-workers, scheduled to air
nationally on public television stations beginning July 26th (please check
local listings at www.pbs.org/pov.) For nearly 30 years, Women Make Movies
has provided a diverse collection of more than 400 titles to the viewing
public and has been supported in the past by grants from the MacArthur
Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and the National Endowment for the
Arts. Our catalogue is used by thousands of educational, community and
cultural organizations annually.

LA BODA, by acclaimed filmmaker Hannah Weyer, presents an intimate portrait
of migrant life on the U.S.-Mexican border and explores the challenges faced
by a community striving to maintain its roots in Mexico while pursuing the
"American Dream." To purchase LA BODA or for more information about the
film, visit our website at http://www.wmm.com/news/laboda2.htm.

Women Make Movies would very much like to work with you in getting the word
out about this wonderful new title. Perhaps you could post this information
on your community listserve or website? In the future, we'd love to
collaborate with you more on promoting this film by listing the availability
of LA BODA in your next newsletter, arranging for reviews, screening LA BODA
at upcoming conferences or providing us with your mailing list. If you are
interested in working with Women Make Movies, please feel free to contact me
via email at cgeorge@wmm.com.

LA BODA is the latest addition to our collection of quality film and videos
on the Latina/Chicana experience, which includes LAS MADRES DEL PLAZA DE
MAYO by Lourdes Portillo; CHICANA by Sylvia Morales; LOVE, WOMEN, FLOWERS by
Marta Rodriguez; DAUGHTERS OF WAR by Maria Barea; and THE DAY YOU LOVED ME
by Florence Jaugey. We are committed to continuing our support of films and
videos by and about Latina/Chicana women.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Christie George
