NSAF Small Research Grants Program

The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) seeks
proposals for small grants to support research for the 2002-2003 academic
year. Funded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, as many as five grants of up
to $20,000 each will be made in 2002 to encourage the use of the National
Survey of America's Families (NSAF). An initiative of the Urban Institute,
the NSAF is an important data resource for research on issues related to
poverty, welfare, health care, economic development, and social and family
policy.

Applications to the NSAF grants program must be postmarked by Friday, March
29, 2002. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee to be
appointed through the Joint Center for Poverty Research. Finalists will be
notified in May 2002, and funds will be disbursed on or about June 3, 2002.

For more information about the NSAF small grants program, please visit the
APPAM web site at http:///www.appam.org/special/nsafindex.shtml or contact
appam@appam.org or at 202-496-0130.

Further information about the public use NSAF data files and data analysis
tools may be found at http://newfederalism.urban.org/nsaf.
