You are not the only person who has brought up the issue of whether the listserv addresses your personal agenda. This is not the first time, nor will it be the last. My suggestion still stands: If there is a cohort of people whose specific needs are not being met, write a petition, talk to the NCAL/NIFL folks, or start a listserv of your own. Or ask those interested persons to address your concerns. Charles Jannuzi has done this with the LAC group, using Yahoo as the server. Instead of continually being unhappy because your needs are not being met, why don't you be pro-active and start a group that does discuss your issues? My original point is that a listserv is alive only as long as there is participation by its members. And perhaps there are not enough members who share the same interests or feel a need to discuss them here on the NIFL listserv. Some of them are just about struggling to stay afloat, some not so sure this is the moment nor the venue for airing their struggles, or are living the same circumstances as you are. Their silence does not mean they are against you, nor that they do not advocate for their learners. regards Ujwala Samant
