The UKCPR is pleased to announce the launch of its Web site at http://www.ukcpr.org/ . This site contains details about the Center's mission, activities, and funding opportunities. In addition the home page offers a unique look at selected economic and programmatic data in its 16 state research region. The UKCPR is pleased to announce a CALL FOR PROPOSALS for Small Grants. UKCPR seeks proposals for social science research on issues salient to low-income populations, especially as it pertains to residents of the American South. Applicants for UKCPR grants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent academic degree by September 1, 2003. Preference will be given to researchers with full-time academic appointments. With funds from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, they anticipate funding 3 proposals, up to a maximum of $20,000 per award. The deadline for applications is June 2, 2003.
