The research presented is funded by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE). Presentation of JCPR Census Bureau funded grants will be held on Thursday, September 4 at Census Bureau headquarters in Suitland, MD. Presentation of JCPR HHS-ASPE funded grants will be held on Friday, September 5 at HHS headquarters in Washington, DC. Some topics to be presented include: a.. From Grants to Loans: Are Shifting Aid Priorities Widening Income Gaps in College Attendance? b.. The Impact of Disabilities on Women's Work among Low-Income Families c.. Neighborhood Effects on Low Income Families: Evidence from a Housing-Voucher Lottery in Chicago d.. Grandmother's Involvement among Children and Adolescents Growing Up in Poverty The conference is free of charge, but registration is required.
