DATA AT A GLANCE: HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION RATES

Racial and ethnic minorities will make up the majority of all non-graduates
in the class of 2004. Of the more than 3.9 million ninth graders who entered
high school in 2000, some 700,000 minority students and 600,000 white
students will not graduate this spring.

Based on Findings from 'Who Graduates? Who Doesn't?'" by Christopher
