Andres,

I am kind  of gloomy about all this. If Iraq is the prototype (why wouldn't it be?) then I'd say your analysis is right on the...money.

I think a lot of people in this country would like to see decent living standards in NO, along with wetland restoration on the Gulf Coast  Look at the response from us citizens, pretty good.

This is an uphill battle.  Read Krugman today in NYTimes (online).  FDR = a person in a different mold.
