My name is Chris Hopey and I am a Senior Researcher at the National Center on Adult Literacy at the University of Pennsylvania. My interests are in the areas of adult learning, technology, and technology policy and planning. Currently I manage the NCAL part of the PBS/NCAL/KET LiteracyLink project. Literacy link is a Stars School Project funded by the United States Department of Education. LiteracyLink is developing an on-line instructional program for GED students, a professional development on-line resource for adult literacy teachers, and a broadcast video series for the GED on TV and Workplace Basic Skills. I also manage other projects funded by IBM, NIFL, US Department of Education and the US Department of Defense. Since this is only our second day on-line things may be a little slow in starting but I expected over the next few months that our discussions will be interesting, informative, and exciting. From time to time other professionals at NCAL will participate or moderate the discussion. I look forward to your participation. Good luck - Welcome Aboard. Chris Hopey
