NIFL-Technology Colleagues,

The Literacy List, at

	http://www2.wgbh.org/mbcweis/ltc/alri/LiteracyList.html

is a Web site designed for adult literacy education (ABE, ASE/GED,
ESL/ESOL) practitioners to help them find useful resources on the Internet
for their work. I am updating it this month and I invite you to look at
it to see if there is a resource which should be added, or a description
which should be corrected.

The Literacy List is an answer to questions such as:

1. Where can I find good instruction on the Web for my (ABE, ESL/ESOL,
GED) students?

2. Is there a Web page where I can find electronic lists (listservers) in
our field and which also has complete instructions on how to subscribe or
unsubscribe to them?

3. I want to purchase software but don't know what's good. Are
there reviews of software by my adult education colleagues on-line?

4. What are "virtual visits" and "virtual tours"? Where can I see
examples such as visits to adult education classrooms, clinics, stores,
banks or realtors, or tours of companies, or a women's shelter?

The Literacy List is designed for new and experienced teachers, and
other practitioners. The Web sites which offer students instruction
on-line are marked with an icon, as are all new additions to the Literacy
List.
