(Federation Employment and Guidance Service), one of the nation's largest ($130M budget) and oldest (established 65 years ago) human services non-profits, is creating a new senior management position to direct the Agency's pioneering work in the realms of adult literacy, workforce development and technology-assisted instruction for adult learners with rudimentary skills. F.E.G.S. expertise in these areas has been acknowledged by major public and private funding sources: we were chosen to participate in the prestigious IBM Workplace Technology consortium, and have been awarded numerous large contracts by the New York City Human Resources Administration (BEGIN and other programs) and the New York City Department of Employment (Titles II and III) to train low level adult learners. We have recently relocated our main facility to state-of-the-art premises in lower Manhattan, with more than 275 program sites throughout the metropolitan region. We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our workplace training and literacy enhancement services into the 21st Century through innovative use of learning technologies. We need an experienced person to oversee daily operations, and a visionary expert in systems (including inter-active and Web-based instruction) to design and direct our future efforts.
