These kinds of workshops can include different ways of using "low tech" media (audio; video; overheads; automated systems - such as 800 numbers), along with ways of using the "new technologies" - such as email and chats, application software (such as Wordprocessing and basic spread sheets) and world wide web sites. I'd like to tap into the resources of the list subscribers... I'm looking to schedule some technology workshops for the literacy practitioners that we serve. Our fall classes, which were basic but well attended, included Computer Basics, Internet for Beginners, Evaluating Educational Software, and Surfing the Web for Adult Education Resources. For our Winter/Spring classes, I'd like to introduce specific topics, perhaps more focused on working with learners. But I'm open to all suggestions. What other topical technology trainings have folks on this list organized, which were sucessfully received by practitioners? Thanks for any ideas and suggestions! faith Faith Goldstein Technology Coordinator Mayor's Commission on Literacy email: faith.goldstein@phila.gov phone: (215) 686-4486
