I'm happy to be onboard. I'd like to let you and any other family literacy practitioners on the list know about a workshop I conducted on "Family and Parent Education Resources on the World Wide Web." The workshop introduced participants to a variety of family/parent-oriented web resources and took them through several hands-on web-based activities that could be done by family literacy teachers, parents and children. The workshop agenda, links and all the web-based activites are online and available for anyone to use at: http://www.lacnyc.org/resources/technology/workshops/parents.htm If you have any questions about the workshop, please let me know. Unfortunately, I was just informed that one of the web activities I used in the workshop - "Ants on a Banana Bus" - from the Ten Minute Bedtime Tour web site by children's author Peggy Rathman, has been taken offline for the moment. it's a great activity, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will go back up soon.
