I can second Dilys Collier's comment about Daniel Laroque. Our college was
involved last year with Daniel's "Literacy Online" project and it was
EXCELLENT! Our learners were all adults and had literacy levels from ~Grade
1-2 to about Grade 5. They all really enjoyed this online program and
benefitted considerably.

Our college has been offering a GED Online program here for several years
now. The program provides very intensive support, online, with all content
included, for both GED Math and Writing Skills. (There is some research to
suggest that if a student can pass Math and Writing Skills portions of the
GED, he/she will most likely pass the other 3 sections). The supported
internet delivery has worked quite well for us and for our students.

I teach at an adult education program at New York City Technical College in
Brooklyn. We are looking into the possibility of setting up on-line classes

for literacy, GED and ESL adult learners. Does anyone know of programs that

have offered such classes? Jay Klokker
