We should some arrangement for doing that in the near future.=20 As Heidi requested, some basic information on ALIES. The Literacy = Assistance Center manages the Adult Literacy Information and Evaluation = System (ALIES) for all adult literacy programs in New York City. NYC = programs use ALIES for reporting and program management needs.=20 It is a stand-alone PC-based system (even though it can be used as a = client-server system as well) created using Access 97. We will be = upgrading to Access 2000 in the next month or so.=20 Programs submit data backups to LAC by email or snail mail and we = provide NY City and State with citywide analyses.=20 ALIES is currently not on sale. It is unlikely that it will ever be. The = LAC is just not equipped to be a commercial software vendor.=20 But we do want to share the system, either in partnerships with = agencies, or as shareware. We have not come to a decison internally as = to which direction we will take.
