It's a program I hadn't heard of before. Although I wasn't able to use the link in your message, I truncated the url to http://www.aolpress.com/ and went directly to the home page where I accessed information on the software. I am impressed with its capabilities, but have a few questions. I have created Web pages using Netscape Composer for our ABE program (We are currently developing an anywhere, anytime learning environment using the Web as the delivery medium.). While this software is easy to use, it doesn't have the capability to do frames or image maps, which I read are available in AOLPress. Also, Composer isn't a WYSIWYG environment and one must keep switching from the editing page to the Web page. My questions: Do you know if AOLPress blends well with other pages that were created using other software, in particular Netscape Composer? Since you have used AOLPress to create Web pages, have you viewed your completed pages on different versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer? If you have, have you noticed any differences in the way the pages are presented? Does AOLPress create pages that are viewed best if AOL is the Internet service provider on the machine where pages are created or viewed? Have you used the form creation feature? If yes, was it as easy to use as AOLPress claims? Are there others on the list who have used AOLPress? If so, what are your experiences with it? I am very interested in others' experiences with Web authoring software in general, and any Web pages/sites list members have created. It is available at http://www.aolpress.com/download/ for various operating systems. This is a free html editor that does not assume anything on your part. It does not force you to format your pages in any way that you do not control immediately. By use of it's buttons, the html tags are inserted into your text. A very simple wysiwyg screen and controls, and the option to see and edit the html code directly...Oh, did I mention AOLPress is a free program. I use Word Pad (somewhat similar to Notepad) for web page development. Word Pad is a simple word processor, and with a little knowledge of HTML, it is fairly easy to build, update, and maintain "info dissemination" web pages. I have used Claris Home Page in the past and did not like it at all. I have also experimented with Dreamweaver. I upload files onto the server using WS_FTP software.
