I teach Computer Literacy to a group of students who often have multiple
disabilities. One student was legally blind and, in addition, had the use of
only one hand. Others have arthritis so badly that it is a challenge for
them to make the mouse move with any accuracy. Still others have troubles
with motor speed, and can't get their fingers off the keyboard keys fast
enough to prevent longgggggg rowsssssss of letters.

I know about the accessibility options that come bundled in the Windows
environment, and we do customize the computer system somewhat for our
students. However, we're on a college-wide network and changing the settings
must be done each time the student logs on to a computer (... and set back
to the original when they log out). Many of these students find this
cognitively impossible to do and this seriously limits the accessibility of
the technology for these people. We would like to find a way so that when
the student logs on, the network pulls a specific settings profile off the
network and sets up the optimal environment for the student, regardless of
what actual machine they log into.

I realize that this is a very "techie" type of question, but does anybody
know how to do this? We run a Novell network.

THanks, in advance, for looking-
