Fund for the City of New York
Nonprofit Computer Exchange and Internet Academy
The Nonprofit Computer Exchange (NCE) was established by
the Fund for the City of New York in 1986 to give New York
City's nonprofit organizations quality, low-cost assistance in
acquiring and using information systems. In 1996 the Fund for
the City of New York created the Internet Academy (IA) to help
nonprofits understand and use the Internet and the World
Wide Web. NCE and IA leverage its assistance through three
interrelated program components: consulting provided to
agency staff at all levels, training programs which are available
at all staff levels, and access to the hardware and software
capabilities available at the NCE and IA's own computer
facilities. Last year , individuals from over 400 nonprofit and
government agencies participated in our training program.
