The "show readability statistics" box has to be checked off in Spelling and
Grammar to get the Flesch-Kincaid scale in Microsoft Word. To do this,
click on the word "Tools" in the menu bar, click on "options" (at the
bottom of the menu that appears), then click on the "spelling and grammar"
tab. Under the word Grammar, click on the "show readability statistics" box
so that it has a check mark in it, then click on OK. Word will give
information on the reading level every time you do a spell check after
that. Hope this helps.
