Hello List:

Last Monday I posted a message asking for your recommendations for a week
during the period of mid-June to the end of July to schedule the guest
discussion with David Reinking. I've received no feedback, thus far. Does
this mean you are not interested in David Reinking joining us as a guest or
just didn't get to the part of the message that had the request for dates? I
probably should have put the question right at the top of the message. In
any case, I'm pasting the text from the prior message below, in case you
missed it and have no idea what I'm talking about. Please post the one week
span that would work best for you between mid-June and end-July by this
Friday 4/20.

Thanks.

Previous Message, Monday 4/9/01:
"David Reinking, one of the editors of Handbook of Literacy and Technology :
Transformations in a Post-Typographic World - one of the books a few of us
recommended to Heide Wrigley recently - has agreed to join the Tech list for
a discussion on literacy and technology for a week in June or July. David is
also Professor of Education and Head of the Department of Reading Education
at the University of Georgia and co-editor of Reading Research Quarterly, a
highly regarded peer-reviewed research journal published by the
International Reading Association.
I am looking for your input into the best dates between mid-June and end of
July to hold the dialogue. The format for the discussion will be as follows:
I will post an introduction written by David with readings (available
online) that he recommends. Over two weeks, I'll collect questions/comments
from the list for David, which I will send to him. David will review the
questions and then will join us for one week for an interactive discussion.
It is this one week period that I am looking for your suggestions on. Once
that is settled, I will work backwards and set up the other significant
dates."
