A colleague who I know through email has possible job openings that sound great for teachers during the summer, college students etc. I'm pasting it in below. If you are interested, please get in touch with her, not me. Thanks. MDRC, a New York and San Francisco-based research organization, and NCSALL, the National Center for the Study of Adult Learning and Literacy at Harvard University, are conducting a study of adult learner persistence in library-based literacy programs, sponsored by the Wallace-Reader's Digest Funds. Two of the sites in this study are located in New York City (Queens and the Bronx). An achievement study is part of this project. For this achievement study, we are looking to recruit Test Administrators .who would administer a comprehensive literacy test to adult students in each of the two programs, in 2001. They would then remain in contact with these students for 18 months, at which point a similar follow-up test would be administered, regardless of whether the student is still enrolled in the literacy program. Administrators will be paid $54 per test (assume about 1? hours for test administration and 1? hours for scheduling, travel, and preparation). Between the two waves of testing, administrators will receive $90 per student with whom they remain in contact (assume an average of 5 hours of tracking work per student). Administrators will be trained in administering the tests in MDRC's office in Manhattan. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Cate Taylor at MDRC's San Francisco office, at 415-781-3800 x.235 or E-mail ctaylor@mdrcsf.org. Ms. Tommy B.
