Tommy, one of the activites I've done with very beginning readers (non
ESL) is having them complete some of the activites on the quia.com site. I
had created a lesson quia.com/jg/74026.html on matching numbers and
numerals and quickly discovered the students preferred doing that activity
as opposed to the "learn the mouse exerciese" our automation staff
recommended. The mouse skills involve moving and clicking. Secondary
skills were that of reading and recognizing numbers/numerals. Quia has a
vast listing of learning activities.

Keystrokes to Literacy is also a great source for ideas.
